It's after midnight...so it's Saturday. We leave to Kaz this afternoon. So many mixed feelings. I can't wait to meet Madi, to see those cheeks and hug her tight! BUT I am so sad about leaving Alex!!!!!!! This is going to be a tough day! I will try not to cry, but I have a feeling that I won't be able to hold it in.
We are packed and ready to go. 4 big suitcases and 3 carry on bags between the 2 of us. One of our suitcases is a little plump, sure we will pay extra for that one! We TRIED to pack light!!! But, really, how light can it be when we are taking our own coffee maker, peanut butter and tons of toys???? Not to mention winter clothes!
I am going to miss my daughter! And I can't wait to meet my other daughter!!!! See what I mean? Mixed emotions. How could it be any other way?
The next post will be from Kazakhstan! It might be a few days before I can set up our internet connection, but as soon as I do, I will be sure to post!

My cousins, can't wait to hear what you've experienced so far. All we do is talk about you guys. Last night Juliet and her clan, and my mom and her clan, where over and we have spent a good 45 minutes on the Madi subject and looking at her pictures. From this side of the family. Hurry up and bring her home so we can all fall in love even more.
Saw Alex today and she was really busy hanging out with the girls.

Hope you guys survived the first leg of your journey without mishap. You're my new heroes for having the foresight to bring a coffee pot!
With the time change and all, I've given up trying to calculate exactly when you meet Madi, so instead I'm checking every few hours for an update.

Hey guys! I saw Alex yesterday and she told me Madi has big checks and she was all smiles!!! How adorable... Alex is great - she can't wait to go back with you! I picked her up after school ... soccer was cancelled (YEAH!!!!) They studied (a lot) and played (a little). Can't wait to hear or read all the details. Will keep checking. Love, Ailin
